BBT Architects has been chosen to provide architectural services for the Athena-Weston School District in Athena, Oregon. The work includes a number of projects, including renovation and upgrades to Athena Elementary School, Weston Middle School and Weston-McEwen High School. The projects are associated with a bond measure passed by the Athena-Weston community on May 17, 2016.
BBT will assist the District in performing general building improvements, security upgrades, energy and HVAC repairs, as well as interior remodel work. The projects are scheduled to be completed during the summer of 2017 and 2018 and are being funded through a $4 million dollar general obligation bond. The District also received a matching state grant of $4 million dollars, bringing the total budget to $8 million dollars. Voters passed the bond measure by over 78 percent.
“We are excited to collaborate with the Athena-Weston School District in making essential districtwide improvements, which is a great investment not only for students but also for the entire Athena-Weston community,” said BBT’s Principal Al Levage.
