Join the Deschutes National Forest for Smokey Bear’s Birthday Party.
The Deschutes National Forest is throwing Smokey Bear a birthday party on Saturday, August 6, from 11am to 1pm at the recently opened Cascade Lakes Welcome Station. The festivities will include singing Happy Birthday and giving away Smokey Bear party favors, birthday cake, and enjoying photo opportunities with the birthday bear. Staff and the public will sing “Happy Birthday” to Smokey at 12:30pm followed by the cutting and sharing of birthday cake.
Smokey’s birthday party offers visitors the perfect opportunity to come by the new Cascade Lakes Welcome Station and check out the many services offered by Discover Your Forest and the Deschutes National Forest, including recreation passes, local area maps, guidebooks and other educational materials.
Located just past mile post seven on the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, the Welcome Station serves as a gateway to some of the most popular trails and lakes on the Deschutes National Forest. The Welcome Station also offers parking and access to Phil’s and Wanoga mountain biking trails systems.
Stop by the Cascade Lakes Welcome Station to help wish “Happy Birthday” to Smokey and meet some of his forest ranger friends!
