Alliance Supply Co. has been enthusiastically serving the Central Oregon business community since January 2005 and includes their Embroidery Shop, Bend Scrub Store and Mat Service.
Starting with their embroidery shop set up in a home garage, owners and founders Jeanie and Pete Dumont, expanded into their current location on Glenwood Drive in Bend the same year they opened due to high demand. Shortly thereafter, Alliance Supply Co. began offering Mat Service.
Jeanie, president explains shortly after Alliance Supply Co. opened, the only scrubs store in town closed. To fill this niche for Central Oregon, the Dumont’s decided to add a third prong to Alliance Supple Co.’s offerings, the Uniform Store, selling medical scrubs and chef wear. Today, Alliance Supply Co. says several customers utilize all three services.
Two years ago Alliance Supply Co. re-branded the Uniform Store to the Bend Scrub Store. The uniform brands they currently carry include Dickies Medical, Cherokee, HeartSoul, WonderWink and Carhartt.
Jeanie notes, “We are not in a retail neighborhood, so we may be hard to find, but worth it as we have a large inventory in a small space. We offer free no risk special orders. This means we can get you what we may not have in our store. We also offer free shipping on website orders that ship to our store where we can complete custom embroidery in house for any size order.”
While Jeanie has seen a demand for Dickies, she says, “within each of the many brands we carry, several lines with different styles and fabrics are available in store. After showing a customer all we have to offer, many times they find a new style or brand they love that they were not even aware of before.”
When asked why the Dumont’s opened Alliance Supply Co., Jeanie explains, “we started out to fill a local need. Our competitors for our mat service are big companies that send all their funds out of the area. They require lengthy contracts and often use their company size in scare tactics to enforce these unwanted contracts. They make the customers feel like the little guy being squeezed. We cater to the small local businesses. We offer quality mats and the option of customized logo mats. It’s interesting to see the quality difference, just start looking down at your feet when you first step into a business.”
Prior to starting Alliance Supply Co. the Dumont’s found that custom embroiderers in Bend were often four to six weeks out on the delivery of services. This indicated a need for timely uniform return. “We started the whole operation with a single head commercial embroidery machine in our garage,” says Jeanie, “We now have five times our original capacity and our normal turnaround time for our embroidery department is about two weeks. We do our very best to meet our customers’ deadlines.”
Jeanie explains she overseas business management and all areas of accounting and finance while her husband, Pete, vice president of operations knows everything about commercial laundry, from route driver all the way to management.
