Bend-based J E Sherry Company, Inc./Pro-Knot has released a new smart phone app for both iPhones and Android phones called Net Knots. The App features the company’s entire www.netknots.com website in an app. That means all of the how-to-tie instructions for over 100 knots, animated, illustrated and described in detail. Knots for fishing, climbing, boating and even fashion knots like necktie knots are included.
The app is available on iTunes and Google Play stores under the name Net Knots.
“We are also publishing within days another app on the Google Play Store,’ shared founder John Sherry.
“It is an Android version of our best selling iPhone App Animated Fishing Knots. It features animated tying instructions for 60 fishing knots. Animated Fishing Knots has been the number one fishing knot app on iTunes since it was published in 2009. We are excited to have it on Android devices now. That brings our total number of apps to 12, across all devices.”
The J E Sherry Company, Inc., which moved to Bend in early 2015, has been marketing its printed plastic cards that teach people how to tie knots for 23 years. The waterproof cards, under the Trademark Pro-Knot are the best selling knot references in the world with over one million sold. (They are available locally at REI and the three fly shops in town.)
In 2009, the company launched its first smart phone App for the iPhone and now has 11 different apps for the various phone platforms including iPhones, Android phones and Windows phones. The newly published NetKnots apps for iPhone and Android represent the company’s website www.netknots.com in its entirety distilled into an app. Netknots.com is one of the top resources on the internet for how to tie knots, garnering over 8 million page views per year.
