BBT Architects recently completed the design of the new Work Skills Technology Center and Founders Hall on the campus of Klamath Community College (KCC) in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
The Work Skills Technology Center, which began construction in October 2016, will serve as an advanced, high-tech learning facility. The $5.3 million, 20,326-square-foot space includes classrooms, technology labs, conference rooms, facility offices, and reception spaces. To meet the diverse needs of KCC students, the facility will be designed to create a dynamic learning environment for quality education. The project is scheduled to be completed in September 2017.
Founders Hall, a $6.2 million building, is set for a March 2017 construction start and will serve as a unifying facility for the college by incorporating administrative and student-focused spaces that easily connect to all points on campus. The programming for the 22,184-square-foot multi-story building will include offices of the president and dean of enrollment, registrar, faculty and staff offices, a veteran’s center, student services, a learning resource center, a tutorial and testing center, and a new bookstore.
The design features an outdoor lawn and commons that will serve as a celebratory area for graduation and provide ample green space for students, faculty, and staff to enjoy. The building is scheduled to open in spring 2018.
“BBT is excited to work with Klamath Community College on these two facilities to bring thoughtful design to the campus while meeting the needs of students, faculty, and the community,” said BBT Principal Todd Turner.
Bogatay Construction, established in 1970, of Klamath Falls was the successful bidder for both projects.
