The Downtown Bend Business Association (DBBA) announced nine new businesses opening in Downtown Bend. “Downtown retail/restaurant space occupancy is now hovering around 94 percent,” says DBBA Executive Director Chuck Arnold.
“The rate for the end of the first quarter is essentially flat from the end of 2009. Spaces don’t seem to be sitting on the market for long which really demonstrates the resiliency of Downtown Bend.”
The DBBA also reports a positive quarter across most sectors of retail with the majority of businesses exceeding their expectations.
New to Bond Street are three establishments, lululemon (550 Franklin-entrance on Bond-a few doors from Typhoon!) which offers yoga apparel, River Bend Fine Art Gallery (844 Bond) offering quality fine art and Tres Chic (841 Bond-behind Bond Street Barber) providing lingerie and locally made jewelry.
Oregon Avenue welcomes a new Federal Express retail outlet and High Desert Frameworks, a professional frame shop, both move into 61 Oregon adjacent to the Post Office. Blue Star Salon, an environmentally responsible salon providing hair and waxing services (1001 Wall-behind Silverado-on Oregon).
Minnesota Avenue adds Diana’s Jewel Box (130 Minnesota) featuring custom jewelry, watch battery replacement and gifts.
Olivia Hunter (800 Wall-entrance on Franklin, adjacent to North Soles) is a new boutique offering artistic clothing with sustainable and simple style.
On Wall Street is Amalia’s, innovative and contemporary Mexican Cuisine at 915 Wall Street in the space recently occupied by Ciao Mambo.
