Results are in from the 2008 Los Angeles International Beer Competition, and two breweries from Bend, Silver Moon Brewing Company and the Deschutes Brewery, took home a combined 11 medals.
Deschutes Brewery won gold medals for English Stye Summer Ale (Twighlight Ale), Briown Porter (Black Butte Porter), Foreign Export-Style Stout (Obsidian Stout), bronze medals for Best Imperial Stout (Abyss), Foreign Export-Style Stout (Black Butte XX), Extra Special Bitter (Bachelor ESB) and Golden or Blonde Ale (Cascade Ale) and was a Best of Show finalist for its Twighlight Ale.
Silver Moon Brewing won gold for Scottish Style Ale (Scottish Soldier), silver for South German Style Hefeweizen (High Plains Heffe) and Robust Porter (Snake Bite Porter), and bronze for English Style Mild Brown (Hound’s Tooth Amber). The brewery was also a Best of Show finalist for Scottish Soldier. All four beers it entered into the competition received medals.
