Epic Aircraft reports year- to-date sales activity for 2008 have reached record levels despite an overall downturn in the aviation industry and plans to release significant new product information in early October, according to a press release issued by the company.
Epic officials said their build center in Bend is at capacity with 22 customer aircraft currently in production, and more than 50 airplanes on the waiting list.
“The growing demand for our Epic LT, Escape and Victory is a testament to the great work
of our staff, and the understanding that our airplanes offer unrivalled performance in the personal and light business aircraft category,” Epic Chief Executive Officer Rick Schrameck said in a prepared statement.
Schrameck will take part in an industry panel presentation at the upcoming National
Business Aircraft Association convention October 6-8 in Orlando, Florida, where Epic Aircraft plans to display its Epic LT and Victory jets for 35,000-or-so people expected to attend the NBAA event.
“We’re also very excited to be part of NBAA’s new Light Business Aircraft Association
Expo,” Schrameck said. “The LBAA is exactly what we need to make sure this important
and emerging market reaches its full potential.”
All of Epic’s aircraft will be in San Diego for the very first LBAA show scheduled March 12-14, the press release said.
Epic also plans to attend the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Expo November 6-8 in San Jose, California where it will again display the LT and Victory jet.
The Epic LT is a pressurized, all composite 1200 horsepower turboprop that made its
debut at AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in 2004. The single-engine, six-seater cruises at 340
knots true airspeed, and will ultimately be certified as the Epic Dynasty.
The Victory jet is a 320 knots true airspeed single-engine VLJ, which made its public debut in Oshkosh last year. The four- to five-seat jet was nominated for the Collier Award, which is awarded annually for the greatest achievement in aeronautics or astronautics in America, during the same year.
