New Liquor Store Located Inside Newport Avenue Market,
Open Daily from 7am to 10pm
Newport Avenue Market opened its liquor store (The Spirit Shop) today as a licensed liquor retailer for the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC). The liquor store is located inside Newport Avenue Market across from the store’s meat department and near the beer and wine section.
Newport Avenue Market was approved by the State of Oregon as a licensed liquor retailer in October after a three-month application process that included submitting a written business plan, a written application, and in-person interviews with State officials.
Since the end of October, Newport Avenue Market has transformed approximately 700+ sq. ft. of the store to house distilled spirits and related products. The space is set up like a store within a store including a door that shoppers will enter and a sales register system that is separate from the registers in the rest of the store.
The distilled spirits product mix will include the major well-known categories such as Bourbon, Cordials, Gin, Rum, Scotch, Tequila, Vodka, and Whisky/Whiskey. Newport Avenue Market will also special order distilled spirits at the request of customers, just as it does with other store items.
The Spirit Shop at Newport Avenue Market is open daily from 7am to 10pm aligning with usual store hours and State of Oregon criteria.
