Residents are encouraged to dispose of unwanted tires free at a collection event scheduled on Saturday, September 17 at Deschutes County’s Knott Landfill Recycling & Transfer Facility. The semi-annual event benefits the community by giving citizens an opportunity to dispose of used tires in a responsible manner.
The collection event takes place at Knott Landfill, 61050 SE 27th St. in Bend, on Saturday, September 17, 7am to 4:30pm. Residents are encouraged to clean up their property as well as neighboring lands by recycling tires at the event.
Tires both on-and-off the rim can be dropped off. Tires over 24.5″ (wheel diameter), farm equipment tires, tires from businesses, fleet tires, or heavy equipment tires will not be accepted at the event.
Limit: 12 tires per household. If you have more than 12 tires, please contact the Solid Waste office in advance for approval.
