Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) has announced the speakers for the next Central Oregon PubTalk on Thursday, January 24, 5pm at McMenamins in Downtown Bend. Tickets are on sale now and available via Eventbrite here.
EDCO’s Central Oregon PubTalk is a happy hour aimed at bringing together different facets of the business community in one place to network, share ideas and further local businesses.
Keynote Speaker
Peter Horan, founder, Horan MediaTech Advisors
Horan is an investor, operator and advisor with a history of building successful media, commerce and ad technology businesses. As a CEO and independent director, he has been part of nine profitable exits in the last fifteen years totaling approximately $2 billion in value and $3 billion in public market value creation. He is an active early stage investor involved with the Oregon Angel Fund, Cascade Angels and Portland Seed Fund.
Previously, he was president and COO of Answers, Corp., CEO of IAC Media and Advertising, CEO of About.com, CEO of AllBusiness.com and more. He is currently on the board of directors of Lending Tree, Business.com, Spirited Media, Topix, AdZerk and Outdoor Project.
His keynote, From Prunes to Petabytes: The Unlikely History of Silicon Valley, will focus on how Silicon Valley transformed from an agricultural paradise to the tech capital of the world. He’ll also discuss making decisions in the absence of data, the challenge of forecasting the impact of new technologies and more.

Tommy Chipman, CEO and co-founder, Season Search
Season Search was born out of frustration and a minor run in with the law. Co-founder Tommy Chipman was fishing with proper licenses, but unaware of a “special exception” hidden in pages of regulatory PDFs with big consequences.
Season Search provides a universal regulatory format for businesses to provide governmental regulatory data (currently hunting and fishing regulations) to their customers in an easy to understand and display format. The system is provided through API’s, embed codes and widgets using scalable cloud infrastructure.
