The City of Bend’s new website is now live at bendoregon.gov. Created in partnership with Vision Internet, the new website dramatically improves customer service by making information and services more accessible to residents. In addition, users no longer need cable TV to watch City Council meetings and can see them live and on-demand via the new website. These efforts align directly with the City Council’s goal of increasing transparency in government
and awareness of City issues in the community.
“We’ve created a website organized around the needs of residents rather than the structure of government,” said Justin Finestone, City Communications Manager.
In addition to the intuitive navigation, the site incorporates an interactive calendar, email subscription service and business resources directory. The visually appealing new design showcases Bend’s vibrant community with rotating photographs of local scenery, residents and events. The City simultaneously launched a mobile version of the website that automatically formats content for mobile phones and devices, allowing residents to access information anytime and anywhere.
Other communication initiatives launched this year to increase awareness of City issues include the Bend 101 Citizen’s Academy and televising City Council Work Sessions. Visit the new bendoregon.govfor more information.
