The U.S. Department of Commerce has selected n-Link Corporation, a Bend-based information technology consultative services company, to provide network and telecommunications infrastructure support for the agency’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). With a total value of $43 million, the awarded contract is for a two-month base period followed by five option years.
The win leverages n-Link’s enterprise architecture and network operations security center expertise. Under the terms of the contract, the company will immediately begin work on a project management transition-in period before tackling the operations, maintenance and enhancement, and telecommunications infrastructure support and network enhancements for the Herbert C. Hoover federal building’s network infrastructure (HCHBnet). The n-Link team will also provide the Department of Commerce, which is housed in the HCHB building in Washington, D.C., with enterprise architecture and information assurance expertise.
n-Link’s vision, said company founder and CEO Sandra Green, is to become a change agent partner with the OCIO by delivering innovative IT solutions that reduce cost while adding significant value to the Department of Commerce. Doing so, Green explained, will allow the OCIO to “improve and enhance stakeholders’ and end users’ efficiency to accomplish the Department of Commerce’s overall mission.”
n-Link will draw upon its extensive OCIO and performance-based enterprise IT program management experience during the contract period to manage four subcontractors, including two very small businesses, a 100% employee-owned large business, and one large IT product supplier. The entire n-Link team, said Green, “looks forward to our engagement with the Department of Commerce.”
