Fun opportunity being offered at Mt. Bachelor to learn about the forest
Beginning this Saturday, people will have the opportunity to ski with a volunteer “forest ranger” on Mt. Bachelor alpine runs and Nordic trails.
The “Ski with a Ranger” program is available through a partnership between the Deschutes National Forest. Mt. Bachelor and Discover Your Northwest. Participants should be at least intermediate skiers or snowboarders. The program will allow people to enjoy their recreational experience while gaining new perspectives on both the large-scale and small natural features that make-up their local national forest.
Dates: March 17, 24, and 31
Time: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: At 2 p.m. meet at the top of the Pine Marten ski lift for the alpine experience. Meet in front of the Nordic Center at Mt. Bachelor’s West Village at 2 p.m. for Nordic experience
Requirements: Alpine or Nordic ski pass, ski equipment, and intermediate skills.

In addition to the “Ski with a Ranger” program, free snowshoe tours continue at Mt. Bachelor on the weekends and will be available every day of Spring Break (March 26 through April 1).
