It’s with sadness and deep commitment to our community that we’re announcing the closure of the High Desert Museum starting on Tuesday, March 17 as part of the effort to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. We’ll remain closed through Sunday, March 29 and will evaluate the situation as our potential reopening draws near. We will continue communicating with you as events unfold.
While we had already postponed or canceled programs through March 31, we are now extending that to all programs through April 11. Please check our calendar at highdesertmuseum.org/calendar to view the relevant programs. We’re reaching out individually to those who have already registered for these events.
We also made the difficult decision to cancel Kids’ Camp Spring Break, March 23 through March 27. We’re reaching out individually to those registered for the camps, as well, and are offering full refunds.
Please know that we are doing all we can to ensure the well-being of our staff and volunteers, and we presently have ample supplies for the animals in our care. We will update highdesertmuseum.org/keep-everyone-healthy regularly.
To get a regular glimpse into the Museum, we will post on Facebook every Tuesday and Thursday at 1pm for a Museum Moment, starting on Tuesday, March 17.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support during these challenging times. Stay home and stay safe — we hope to see you in the near future at the Museum.
