While a lot of focus has been placed on the Federal SBA Paycheck Protection Program to retain employees, do you know that the State of Oregon has a Work Share program that may also be an option to retain employees?
Through the Oregon Work Share program, partial unemployment insurance benefits are granted to employees to compensate for a reduction in hours. In this way, the program allows both businesses and their current employees to get the benefit of the payroll taxes companies pay. Employers with three or more employees can apply for the program. Work Share has been used by businesses to avoid layoff and retain some, if not all, of their employees. See the attached links for more information.
