The Chamber has scheduled a nine day Experience China trip, October 19 – 28, 2013 that’s sure to be unforgettable. The purpose of this once-in-a-lifetime trip is to offer the Bend Chamber members and non-members an incredible opportunity to visit China with their fellow business professionals, friends and families. The trip includes roundtrip airfare from Seattle, three full meals per day, 4 and 5 star hotel accommodations (based on double occupancy), tour bus transportation, English speaking guides, admission to tours and attractions, airport taxes, post departure travel insurance and intercity air and ground transportation all for $2,199.00! A little tight on cash right now but would love to go? No problem, you can register for the trip by placing a $200 non refundable deposit now and pay the balance by July 15, 2013.
The Chamber has partnered with Citslinc International Inc., a company with more than 15 years of experience in China tours that has partnered with chambers across the country to offer more than 500 such Chamber trips. During the trip, there is an opportunity (for those of you who are interested) to meet with local companies in similar fields, to discuss cooperative business efforts.

A valid passport and travel visa are not required to register for the trip, but both are required for travel to China. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your visa and have one blank page. For more information on obtaining a passport, please visit the US Department of State website at http://travel.state.gov/passport. The Bend Chamber will also be processing travel visas for all travelers. Please note there is a visa fee of $165. A separate application for the process is required and will be distributed.

Trip at a Glance
Day 1: October 19 Seattle – Beijing
Board an afternoon flight from Seattle to Beijing. Your adventure begins as you fly trans-Pacific aboard a wide cabin jetliner.
Day 2: October 20 Beijing (King Wing Hotel/ 5-Star)
Arrive in Beijing, the Capital of China. You will be met by your local tour guide at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
Day 3: October 21 Beijing
Visit Tiananmen Square, the largest square in the world.
Sightseeing also includes the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, home of 24 emperors with a total space of 9,999 rooms, and the Summer Palace, known for its Long Corridor with painted gallery, Kunming Lake, Longevity Hill, Seventeen-Arch Bridge and Marble Boat.
Day 4: October 22 Beijing Tour bus excursion to the Great Wall, the 4,000 mile long and 2,000 year old structure. It’s said to be the only man-made structure visible by naked eye from the moon. Visit the Ming Tombs, one of 13 Ming Emperors’ tombs is fully excavated and open for exploration. |
Day 5: October 23 Beijing |
Visit Lama Temple and the Temple of Heaven, built in 1420 A.D., where the emperors prayed to the heavens for a good harvest. |
Day 6: October 24 Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhour (Glamor Hotel/4-Star) |
Morning China Hainan flight to Shanghai, then take the tour bus trip to Suzhou. Afternoon sightseeing to the centuries old Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill and Hanshan Temple. Visit to the National Embroidery Institute to see silk embroidery, a local craft with a thousand years of history. Includes an evening dinner show with traditional Chinese music.

Morning tour bus journey to Hangzhou. Visit to Economic Development Zone. Visit to the old Lingyin Temple, featuring a 64.3 foot high camphor wood carved Buddha. |

Morning boat cruise on West Lake with relaxing stopover at jewel-like pagodas and tea houses. Afternoon tour bus trip to Shanghai |
Day 9: October 27 Shanghai Sightseeing includes the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rock work and arching trees. Visit to the Bund, a famous waterfront park as well as a visit to the Pudong economic development zone. |
Day 10: October 28 Shanghai/Beijing/Seattle |
Morning flight to Beijing. Afternoon flight will depart for Seattle and arrive on the same day. |
