Mosaic Medical Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary with Prineville Event Today

Mosaic Medical is celebrating its ten years of service to the Central Oregon community with a public event at its Prineville clinic on Tuesday, November 13. Community members are invited to enjoy food, beverages and learn more about Mosaic’s non-profit primary care clinics from 6-8pm.

Mosaic Medical began as the Ochoco Health Systems in 2002 with the opening of the Ochoco Community Clinic in Prineville. The clinic was started by a group of community members who saw the need for a Federally Qualified Health Center which could serve uninsured and medically underserved patients.

The need for such a clinic was apparent in Bend also and the Community Clinic of Bend followed in April 2005. The Jefferson Community Clinic opened in January 2006 in Madras. In July of 2008, these Federally-Qualified Health Centers were all united under the name “Mosaic Medical” which exists today as a private non-profit organization governed by a patient-majority board of directors.

The mission of Mosaic is “to improve the lives and health of individuals and families in the communities we serve.” In the last year, Mosaic served over 18,000 patients. As from the beginning, each of our clinics offer high-quality, comprehensive, culturally competent primary care services, regardless of age, healthcare insurance coverage, language of origin or any other demographic characteristic. Mosaic continues to expand to meet community needs and will open a Redmond clinic in March of next year.
