Crater Lake Spirits has announced the launch of Crater Lake Estate Rye Whiskey, the newest addition in the Crater Lake Spirits portfolio of spirits.

A straight American rye whiskey, the company has been working for years to develop Crater Lake Estate Rye. The spirit is grown, distilled and aged entirely at the distillery in Bend. The process begins with 14 acres of legacy rye grain and lava rock-filtered water from the 745 foot deep on-site well. Once each year, the 100 percent rye mash is distilled in single batches and aged at least five years in the Central Oregon High Desert. Each bottle holds the character of that year’s rye crop honed over time by crisp mountain air.

With only a few barrels produced each year, this is truly one of the world’s rarest rye whiskeys — created right in Bend.

As of this week, visitors can come try Crater Lake Estate Rye for themselves. Indoor service will resume, as will mini cocktail service at the Crater Lake Spirits Tasting Room in downtown Bend and at the Tumalo distillery.
