Hood River based winery brings its exotic brands and provocative labels to Central Oregon. The Old Mill District will welcome the slightly risqué Naked Winery to its ranks this month. The winery plans to open a tasting room in the Bend shopping area next door to Desperado, featuring wines ranging from the company’s foxy Vixen Syrah to its refreshing Foreplay Chardonnay.
Naked Winery boasts wines for every taste and style, as they, “Aim to Tease!”.
Naked Winery President David Barringer said, “Bend’s Old Mill District is a perfect fit our tasting room expansion. Guests can park once for access to: shopping, outdoor play, entertainment, dining and now wine tasting. Our team is very excited about being here and when we’re not at the tasting room, you’ll see us playing on the water, courts, trails and slopes nearby.”
Naked Winery was founded at the start of the century, when the Barringer and Michalec families created a partnership. The company has a tasting room and headquarters located in Hood River and sources fruit for its wine from select vineyards across Oregon and Washington. Two tasting rooms in South Dakota also feature the company’s wines.
The grapes for Naked Winery’s Big red varietals (Barbera, Cabernet, Merlot, Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Syrah, Tempranillo and Zinfandel) are grown in the hot and dry Apple Gate and Columbia Valley regions. While other varietals (Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Muscat, Riesling and Viognier) benefit from the cool pacific marine layers of the Willamette and Illinois Valleys to produce subtle and complex wines.
The Naked Winery tasting room will be located at 330 SW Powerhouse Dr., Suite 110 in Bend next door to Desperado and across of Chico’s.
