What are your top three things to do at the Museum for the long weekend? It’s hard to pick just three with a summer schedule packed with programs that get you nose-to-nose with wildlife! Daily talks are FREE with Museum admission!
#1 — Sit in on the new interpretive talk Wolves in the High Desert, daily at 1pm. Learn about the biology of wolves, their role in natural ecosystems and the challenges our communities are working to overcome as they return home.
#2 — You have not one but TWO chances to see a raptor up close in the Bird of Prey Encounter, daily at 10am and 4pm. Hear about the adaptations of different raptors and what you can do to ensure their future on the landscape.
#3 — Desert Dwellers is back, daily at 2pm! Meet some of the charismatic species that call the High Desert home including porcupines, skunks and badgers.

GET LOST IN A NEW EXHIBITION
Learn about the art, intricacy and importance of pollination in the new, original exhibit In Time’s Hum: The Art and Science of Pollination.
Get lost in the work of visual artist jasna guy and entomologist Lincoln Best. The exhibit features graphite drawings, striking photographs of native flora, animations, lines of poetry and vibrant pollen color studies. The exhibit plants seeds of contemplation and sparks wonder at the intricacy of nature!

CONSIDER NATURE’S BEST HOPE
How do we create beautiful landscapes brimming with life; landscapes that support the pollinators, herbivores, detritivores, predators and parasitoids that run the ecosystems on which we depend?
Explore the possibilities with Dr. Doug Tallamy, entomologist and author of Nature’s Best Hope, in the virtual program A Guide to Restoring the Little Things That Run the World on Wednesday, June 9. He will remind us of the many essential roles insects play, and describe the simple changes we must make to keep insects on the ground, in the air and yes, on our plants.

Don’t miss the final week of this year’s Kids Curate exhibition! The display is the work of fifth graders from Jewell Elementary School in Bend through the yearlong project incorporating science and art that culminates in an exhibit at the Museum.
If you’ve ever pondered the myriad connections between plants, animals and the energy of the sun, this exhibit will brighten your day! Kids Curate closes Sunday, June 6.
