All Mixed-Up, LLC, an organic frozen yogurt, smoothie and soup shoppe in NorthWest Crossing has been sold to Steve and Jennifer Paulson.
They will continue the shoppe’s first-in-Bend fully compostable café, adding frozen custard to its organic line, waffles to the hot-bottom-pastries, as well as natural hot dogs, more soups and other lunch options.
The family-owned company includes the Paulson’s children, Taylor and McKenna. Jennifer is a nurse practitioner and Steve has experience in construction and was a previous business owner. “We both come from families in the food industry,” explained Jennifer. “This has been a smooth transition for us taking over/purchasing the business from JoAn (Mann). She has been wonderful to work with. We’ve talked about opening a cold treats shoppe for three years now so this is like a dream come true. We are a green, organic family so this organic, compostable business was an excellent fit.”
“We intend to live up to the name All Mixed-Up. We’ve started mixing things up with some additional products-Belgian waffle bar where customers can make their own waffles and use all the toppings from the topping bar. We added all natural beef hot dogs in addition to soups, cold beverages and organic coffee.
“As for the frozen treats, we are adding frozen custard. Frozen custard is known as the goddess of ice cream and is a midwest tradition and usually has a strong following. When compared to fro-yo, custard has a higher fat/lower carb/sugar content. We will continue with our dairy free sorbet and fro-yo flavors. So we will truly have a cold treat for everyone!”
