0

The Deschutes Soil and Water Conservation District (DSWCD) is announcing up to $300,000 in available funding for the On-Farm Efficiency Water Conservation Investment Program. The objective of the program is to accelerate existing water conservation efforts in Deschutes County by improving on-farm irrigation conveyance systems, upgrading on-farm infrastructure from flood to sprinkler irrigation and improve landowner’s knowledge and skills in managing irrigation water on their farm.

High priority will be given to projects that convert flood to sprinkler irrigation, reduce off-site impacts to water bodies — such as streams, rivers or irrigation canals — and reduce water loss in conveyance systems.

Landowners who meet eligibility criteria must apply to DSWCD by February 11. Applications can be submitted by e-mail to deschutesswcd1@outlook.com or by mail at:

Invoices of work performed is required before funds can be dispersed. It is the right of the DSWCD to refuse any work performed by the landowner if it is not related to the project or does not meet technical standards.
