Four years ago last week, Rebecca Charlton opened Cowgirl Cash in downtown Bend. She said, “ It was scary….Halloween 2009.”
“It was a leap of faith, and one I have not regretted for one day. I look back on some photos and wonder if I was crazy. I barely had any inventory, but I had some awesome vintage boots. I was also determined and hopeful. The store has evolved over the past four years. I’ve added my Lucky Lady Dress line, I’ve taken over the Bend Coop Tour, I’ve expanded into the full 1,600 feet of my space, my website has improved and I’m open seven days a week most of the year.
“However, much has stayed the same. Clyde is here to greet the customers. The whole family pitches in on artwalk and we still serve a ¼ barrel of Bend Brewing Beer. I still buy quality items that are authentic, practical and beautiful, and I pay cash. Hence the name… Cowgirl Cash.”
