Central Oregon success story BASX Solutions is writing a new chapter in its incredible growth history after breaking ground on a new 36,000 square foot state-of-the art weld shop addition at its burgeoning Redmond campus.
Now one of the region’s biggest employers with a workforce of over 500, the high-efficiency manufacturer of precision engineered HVAC products for data center and cleanroom industries today occupies some 300,000 sq. ft. of space.
BASX has undergone significant changes since its inception in 2014 — following acquisition and repurposing of the former Walmart big box store site on the southern edge of town — completing a 75,000-square-foot warehouse addition in 2021, and a modern two-story, 15,000-square-foot office build in 2022.
And as the company outgrows its original site, an additional 70,000+-square-foot space in north Redmond is being prepared as a future supply warehouse, ready for move-in this fall, to help ease capacity pressure.
Prior to the groundbreaking ceremony, a group of project partners, stakeholders, business, and community leaders toured the sprawling plant, where production has been ramped up to meet a strong demand which saw the company grow 43p percent last year. A $13 million modular order for Microsoft was just one of the projects currently being overseen at the bustling Redmond manufacturing facility.
The new weld shop addition, expected to be completed next year, will provide custom-built dedicated space for an innovative welding facility. The shop, designed by Blaise Cacciola Architect with construction by Redmond-based general contractor SunWest Builders, will support welding operations for air handler base assemblies, fabrication cubes and related custom HVAC products.
The workspace will also provide room for a new tube laser, house a large vertical band saw and be fully air conditioned, with filtration. The project can accommodate around 50 current employees, with the capacity to fill an additional 30 welding positions, and the increase in warehouse capacity will allow BASX to utilize and repurpose the existing weld space to meet rising production needs for commercial customers.
BASX Solutions was acquired by AAON in 2021 and will be rebranding to BASX, Inc., continuing to focus on quality, innovation, and cutting-edge technology. The Made-in-America emblem is proudly displayed on every one of its products.
