The southwest Bend hills will be alive with the sound of music at this season’s Brookswood Plaza ‘Last Tuesday’ Open Air Market for three big events this summer. Local music making favorite, Moon Mountain Ramblers will kick off the events on Tuesday, June 24 as part of the re-named Open Air Market (formerly the Brookswood Plaza Farmers Market).
The events will be held on the last Tuesday of June, July and August at Brookswood Meadow Plaza from 4-7pm. Hilst & Coffey and Chiringa are on board for the July 7 and 29 and August 8 and 26 events respectively, adding some hot fun to the local pop-up farm, artisan and craft market. They are family friendly events and all are welcome to attend, shop, listen, dance, and socialize with other community members!
“We’re excited to welcome the addition of music to our three big events this summer thanks to the requests of local residents and our vendors, along with the support of the individual businesses here at the Plaza. We’ll have two hours of music during the Open Air Markets and even a Latin dance lesson to spice things up in August,” said Cricket Kadoch, the Open Air Market manager and community liaison for the shopping Plaza. “We have been fortunate to have such a wide variety of vendors at the previous two years for the Farmers Market and wanted to change our name to reflect what we have – local food, crafts, farm goods, jewelry, art, music and more. . . a little bit of everything under the sun really! We invite everyone to come have fun and support local people.”
With nearly 10,000 households within a 3-mile radius of the Plaza, the Open Air Market will bring farm fresh and locally produced goods closer to the area’s residents. The list of vendors is growing daily. Some of those already signed up include: DD Ranch, Sagestruck Herbary, Malekai Creations, LeCol’s Soap Bar, and DK Designs Jewelry. There is still space available for all dates, and vendors are welcome to apply for one or all. There is no booth charge. To request an application, interested vendors should send an email to openairmarket@brookswoodplaza.com or call 541-323-3370.
