Design Outcomes for Antler
Antler is our second community in Redmond that will be available in 2025. Through our recent design feedback sessions, we gathered invaluable insights from prospective homebuyers, leading to the following enhancements for the Antler community:
Three-bedroom cottage floor plans.
Split-level duplex floor plans.
Key Design Adjustments:
- Variety of Unit Sizes: This community will feature three-bedroom single-family homes for larger families as well as two-bedroom split-level duplexes.
- ADA Accessibility: The bottom units of the split-level duplexes will be fully ADA accessible and incorporate principles of universal design. This community also features raised garden beds in the community garden that are ADA accessible.
- Soundproofing: One of the key pieces of feedback we received from our prospective homebuyers was the need for improved soundproofing between units. To address this, we have made significant upgrades to our construction practices, ensuring that noise transmission between units is minimized.
- Additional Storage Solution: Recognizing the need for ample storage, particularly in a region like Central Oregon where outdoor activities are a way of life, we have designed each home with an external storage shed. This shed provides flexible storage options for our residents, catering to a variety of needs like e-bike storage and outdoor gear.
- Sustainable and Safe Communities: We will continue to prioritize the creation of green spaces within the community, including a community garden and dedicated areas for children’s play. The design includes additional gathering areas, open lawn spaces, and a central community garden to foster a sense of connection and well-being among residents. Additionally, crosswalks will be implemented to ensure safer streets, promoting a secure and welcoming environment for everyone.

Rooted in Sisters at
The Woodlands
What a special day for RootedHomes! Our organization proudly hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Sisters, where a new homeowner — a middle school math teacher from the Sisters School District — was welcomed into the community. This event was more than just a celebration of a new home; it was a testament to what is possible when organizations, legislators, and community members come together to tackle the housing crisis head-on.
This home, situated in The Woodlands, a planned community that values sustainability and natural beauty, represents the first of many projects aimed at providing permanently affordable housing for local workforce members. Designed by BUILD LLC and meticulously constructed by CS Construction, this home is a model of thoughtful design and high-quality construction, blending seamlessly with the surrounding environment while providing a durable and energy-efficient living space.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of several notable figures, including Oregon State Representative Emerson Levy, Deschutes County Commissioners Patti Adair and Phil Chang, and the Sisters School District Superintendent Curt Scholl. Their support and recognition of the importance of affordable housing were evident, and their words resonated deeply with all in attendance.
