Bend Language Institute (BLI) has been serving the Central Oregon community’s language learning needs since opening its doors five years ago. They teach private lessons and group classes in several different languages, including Spanish, Italian, English, French, American Sign Language, Japanese, German and more.
Over the past few years, a number of businesses and nonprofits have been sponsoring their employees’ language development with BLI to further their professional communication capabilities. In order to meet the need of local organizations, BLI is launching a new corporate language program this fall.
Founder Christina Cappy explains that through the corporate language program courses can be customized to focus on specific content, such as cross-cultural customs and training, international trade, healthcare, building construction, or everyday business interactions and digital communications. “There will be other customizable aspects as well,” explains Cappy, “such as whether a business would like to offer in-person or remote classes, and the option to choose between a one-time three-hour class or an eight-week course with even more opportunities for personalization. These courses can assist business owners, managers, and employees to communicate with their clients, patients and colleagues.” Cappy’s goal is to make the program as accessible as possible to businesses that would like to participate.
BLI is currently organizing corporate language programs in Spanish and English to begin in September and October.
