The goal of Bend 101 is to provide a channel for helping new(ish) residents better understand where Bend has come from, what it’s facing today, how to get involved and make new connections, and, ultimately, have an impact.
The next quarterly Bend 101 session will be at the Tower Theatre on Thursday, February 16, at 5:30 p.m. The general public is invited to join us for an exciting evening of community engagement and education.
“Bend 101 is moving locations for the first time for our session in February and we are thrilled to welcome our attendees to the Tower Theatre! There are many reasons why the Tower is a perfect fit for us — from accessibility to the venue, to newer residents to Bend learning about our focus topic of arts and culture in one of the very buildings where much of the region’s growth in the arts has occurred,” shared Cyrus Mooney, Bend Chamber Events and Programs Lead.
“Attendees can expect a fun and engaging lineup of speakers that will share decades of lived experience and knowledge about how this community has transformed over the years while still maintaining the high quality of life that we get to enjoy today,” he continued.
The evening will be spent getting to know the roots of our beloved city, how it has grown to what we see today, and how we can all contribute to a thriving society in the future. There will be time to socialize and indulge in bites, beverages and enjoy the program in the spectacular and historic Tower Theatre.
Ray Solley, Tower Theatre Foundation Executive Director, had this to say, “There’s one thing guaranteed to give you a sense of being part of the Central Oregon community — attending a live performance with fellow Bendites. Music, comedy, drama, poetry. It doesn’t matter. In a city where permanent art exhibits are in roundabouts and stages are seemingly everywhere, it’s easy to take arts and culture for granted. The Tower is honored to host the next edition of Bend 101. We look forward to showcasing the diversity of arts and artists who find sustenance and support here.”
The seasonal program will emphasize arts and culture, including how our community has grown intentionally to allow space for community members to express their creativity.

Space is limited at the Tower Theatre, so registration is required and is now open at bend101.org. The cost is $15 per person to attend. Admission includes a beverage and appetizers.
