Connecting Your New Employees to Our Community

Bend 101 is the perfect opportunity for your new employees to learn about their new hometown in a fun and enlightening way.

The program kicks off with an entertaining video that provides a tongue-in-cheek look at our city, some of its quirks, and, most importantly, its values. Attendees are guaranteed to find humor as they relate to some of Bend’s daily life situations.

Next, guests are treated to an informative look at the area’s history from before Bend was Bend to the present day from our local historian and a regional economist. Smiles and ah-ha moments will ensue.

Bundled into the rest of the program is an interview-style chat with longtime residents focusing on how Bend has grown and changed over the years, information on programs from the Bend Parks and Recreation District and Deschutes County Library, plus insights from City Manager Eric King on how the City of Bend government and administration are structured and function, and what its goals are.

Following the presentation, guests will have the opportunity to meet other new and longtime residents of Bend and make meaningful connections.
