The Central Oregon council of National Women In Roofing (NWIR) invites the community to attend their first event during which they will announce the recipient of their veteran roofing project.
From 11am-2pm on Friday, May 9, Roofline Supply & Delivery in Bend will host a community BBQ alongside members of the local National Women In Roofing council. Community members and businesses are welcome to join the free event to learn more about NWIR.
Veterans or service members from the local community were nominated over the past few weeks and went through a selection process with members of NWIR. The current state of the roof at the veteran’s home, past or current service, and community involvement were all taken into consideration during the selection process.
“We look forward to hosting the community at our first-ever BBQ and announcing this deserving veteran from Central Oregon who will be the recipient of a new roof later this year,” said Jessica Mastrud, Chair of the local NWIR. “There were quite a few nominees from the community; it was a tough decision! We are grateful for so many community partners and sponsors who are supporting our BBQ and allowing us to make the roofing project happen for this veteran.”
The announcement will occur at 12:30pm during the event on May 9. There will also be a live roofing demo featuring Tamarack Sheds, IKO, and All Concepts Roofing, as well as giveaways and raffle prizes. Parking is available along Armour and Bridgeford roads, and carpooling is encouraged.
