It’s all brewing this month at Oregon Adaptive Sports (OAS)!  We’ve got multiple chances to support OAS by visiting some of our favorite local establishments and we have even more opportunities for individuals with disabilities to access the mountains at no cost.

It’s no secret that these things go hand in hand; because of this support OAS is able to continue to eliminate barriers to the outdoors for individuals with disabilities!  Read on for all the info!

January 14 | OAS & Dutch Bros Day!

On Friday January 14, $1 from every drink sold at Central Oregon Dutch Bros locations will support OAS!!  Stop at your local Dutch Bros on your way up to the mountain AND again on the way home to support OAS!

During the day, OAS will be having a social media giveaway!  Take and post a picture to Instagram when you stop to get your drinks and tag @Oregon_Adaptive_Sports @DutchBrosCentralOr and @DutchBrosCoffee and tell us why you love OAS!  OAS will randomly select a winner who will take home an OAS Hydro Flask water bottle, cooler cup and backpack!

January 20 | OAS 10 Barrel Charity Night @ EASTSIDE 10 Barrel!

For the third year in a row 10 Barrel has selected OAS as their charity of the quarter and we will gather to celebrate, support and cheers to OAS on Thursday, January 20th!  Stop by anytime 5-9pm!

January 20-22 | Heroes Ski Weekend @ Mt Bachelor

OAS is excited to provide two full days of adaptive skiing at Mt. Bachelor for Veterans and Active Duty service members. Come enjoy the benefits of outdoor recreation and the thrill of downhill skiing in beautiful Bend, Oregon. OAS will provide two nights lodging, two days of lift tickets, state of the art adaptive equipment, certified instruction and trained volunteers.

This year’s Heroes event is a COVID adapted version with a max capacity of eight Veterans. Based on grant funding, OAS is prioritizing participants of greatest need who face the most obstacles to accessing the mountains with preference to individuals who have never participated with OAS before. OAS will not be supporting lessons/experiences for family members in 2022.

February 5 | Ellie Bartlett Jr Racers Ski Day @ Hoodoo!

In honor and memory of one of OAS’ most dedicated volunteers, Ellie Bartlett, OAS hosts this annual free ski day for youth ages 25 and under at Hoodoo. Limited accessible transportation is available from Eugene and there will be ample opportunity for youth to enjoy the freedom of adaptive skiing! Lunch is provided and costumes are strongly encouraged!

New to OAS?  First Three Lessons are Free!

The OAS First Turns Scholarship Program launched last winter to support more athletes accessing the outdoors in the midst of the pandemic.  We know that cost is a barrier to the outdoors for many individuals and are committed to continuing to reduce that barrier.

The First Turns program means that any new-to-OAS athlete receives their first three winter experiences at no cost!

The First Turns program is made possible by OAS donors, the Roundhouse Foundation, Marie Lamfrom Foundation, Hampton Family Foundation, Bend Foundation, Swigert Foundation and of course our host partners at Mt. Bachelor and Hoodoo!
