Consumer Cellular, the mobile carrier with the highest overall customer satisfaction according to Nielsen Mobile Insights, will give its customers free service on October 15 in celebration of the company’s 20th anniversary. Opening in August 2012 there are currently 452 employees in the Redmond call center.
“October 15 marks a major milestone for our company,” said John Marick, CEO of Consumer Cellular. “Our customers have taught us so much over the past 20 years and we are continually inspired and energized by their positive feedback. To thank them, we announced Consumer Cellular’s Free Service Day where our customers can talk and text as much as they want without using any of the minutes or text messages on their monthly plans.”
In addition to thanking customers, Consumer Cellular is also rewarding the employees who helped the company achieve such success over the past 20 years with a $20 bonus for each month they have been with the company.
This is not Consumer Cellular’s first time giving back to customers and employees. Over the years, the company has consistently celebrated milestones, including its recent $2 million pledge to the Knight Cancer Challenge in honor of its upcoming 2 millionth customer. “It is because of our employees and customers that we have managed to grow and succeed over the past 20 years,” continued Marick. “Their commitment and support has enabled the company’s consistent growth, allowing us to bring our service, value and reliability to even more customers.”
The company, founded in 1995 in Portland, Oregon, has experienced an average of 35% revenue growth year over year since 2006. Consumer Cellular is expected to hit $650 million in revenue this year and $1 billion by 2018.
