Get outside and discover nature this Saturday, May 14th from 1:00 to 3:00 at American Legion Park in Redmond. The Birds and Beaks are Neat program is bilingual (Spanish/English) and is being offered by the High Desert Museum, a partner of the Children’s Forest of Central Oregon. This is a free family event to explore and learn about our natural world. It is geared toward children ages 5-10.
“We’re excited to be able to introduce children to some of the fascinating birds in our region and to teach them how to identify them in the wild,” said Carolyn Nesbitt, the Museum’s curator of education. The event will include an encounter with the Museum’s great horned owl, a scavenger hunt, a migration game, learning how to use binoculars and a craft where children will learn to make binoculars from cardboard.
