Now nearing 20 years in business in Central Oregon, E2 Solar is celebrating this milestone and its new ownership with a ribbon cutting and meet-and-greet on October 24, 2024. This event, which takes place on the International Day of Climate Action, also coincides with National Energy Awareness Month, an initiative launched in 1991 to highlight the importance of responsibly and sustainably managing energy resources.

“The Northwest is experiencing unprecedented energy challenges due to an increased demand on an already taxed power infrastructure,” says Rob Black, CEO of E2 Solar. “A summer of wildfires in Oregon has increased these vulnerabilities, making it clear that it’s time for our region to adopt renewable energy solutions like solar with battery storage. We are proud to be at the forefront of these endeavors in Central Oregon.”

E2 Solar’s ribbon cutting, to be held in partnership with the Bend Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 4 p.m. on October 24, at the company’s office at 20784 NE High Desert Lane in Bend. The community is invited to meet local solar experts, take tours of the facility, ask questions about renewable energy, and enter to win raffle prizes donated by E2 Solar and industry vendors.

To better meet the needs of its customers, who represent a wide range of income levels, E2 Solar’s new owners have expanded its product offering to include a range of options, from affordable yet high-quality technology to the most elite home energy systems. “For too long, solar technology has often been out of reach for many less-affluent members of our communities,” says Black. “We’re hoping to change that.”

As an Energy Trust of Oregon Trade Ally, E2 Solar is one of two Central Oregon contractors participating in Solarize Deschutes. This community-driven campaign offers informational workshops and incentives to people wanting to switch to renewable energy and continues through the end of October.
