ABOUT BROOKS RESOURCES CORPORATION
The Family Resource Center has been fortunate to be the recipient of many years of support by the 2016 Corporate Advocacy Honoree, Brooks Resources Corporation.  Unwavering commitment to philanthropy is an important component of the Brooks Resources corporate philosophy.  Brooks Resources Corporation donates at least 3% of its pre-tax profits to Central Oregon charitable endeavors each year.  The Bend Foundation was established by Brooks Resources to help support local programs that are vital to the community, including the Family Resource Center.

ABOUT THE CO-FOUNDERS
Over 25 years ago, a group of concerned citizens worked together to come up with a strategy to address the prevention of youth problems such as dropping out of school, substance abuse, youth delinquency, teenage pregnancy and child abuse.  Their mission and purpose evolved to focus on providing parents in central Oregon with child raising strategies that strengthen their children’s physical, mental and social development. The following 2016 Advocacy Honorees were instrumental to the formation of the Family Resource Center: Loren Irving, Carol Stiles, Tim Higdon, Sue Hollern, Sue Shepardson, Father Donal Burke, Vicki Ertle, Carol Palmer, Ann Van Dusen, the late Dennis Maloney, and Meredith Mason.  Without their vision and tireless work, the Family Resource Center would not have been able to serve families in Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook counties for 25 years.
