The Grazing Revolution: A Radical Plan to Save the Earth

0

At the High Desert Museum on December 13 Hatfield Lecture speaker, Allan Savory, will discuss how holistic planned grazing can be the answer to a plethora of worldwide problems, both social and environmental.

Allan Savory has a plan to save the earth, and some of his solutions will surprise you.

At the annual Doc & Connie Hatfield Sustainable Resource Lecture, held at the High Desert Museum, Savory will talk about how managing livestock holistically can preserve the world’s grasslands and address numerous global natural resource and social challenges. He also will discuss the unintended impact of a vegan diet on the environment. The lecture will be held on Saturday, December 13 at 6pm.

As president of the Savory Institute in Boulder, Colorado, Savory helps develop locally-led and managed learning/training hubs where ranchers, farmers, researchers, universities, governments and environmental organizations are beginning to collaborate and provide solutions. More than 10,000 Holistic Management Practitioners are currently impacting more than 40 million acres of grassland around the world.

Savory was born in Zimbabwe and has spent his career working on holistic land, livestock and wildlife management. In 2003, he was given the Banksia International Award for the person or organization doing the most for the environment on a global scale.

This annual event at the High Desert Museum honors the work of Doc and Connie Hatfield of Brothers, Oregon. The Hatfields started the Oregon Country Beef Cooperative and demonstrated how a holistic approach to ranching can be compatible with healthy rangelands, riparian zones and watersheds.

This lecture is free and RSVPs are requested. www.highdesertmuseum.org/rsvp
