The Humane Society of Central Oregon (HSCO) invites the community to celebrate the season of giving while making a difference for local animals and families. HSCO is hosting two special events:
Holiday Open House — Saturday, December 21
- Time: 10am-5pm
- Location: HSCO Shelter, 61170 SE 27th Street, Bend
- Join us for festive refreshments, goodies for you and your pets, and a chance to meet our shelter guests. Bring a gift for the animals, explore volunteer opportunities, and experience how HSCO creates a brighter future for pets in need.
Free Pet Food and Bed Distribution — Friday, December 20
- Time: 12-3pm
- Location: HSCO Shelter, 61170 SE 27th Street, Bend
- Details: HSCO will distribute free dog and cat food, along with cozy pet beds, to families in need. Generously supported by Fences for Fido and Greater Good Charities, this event ensures pets stay nourished and warm this winter.
“No animal or family should struggle during the holidays,” said Lynne Ouchida, HSCO’s Director of Community Partnerships. “These events are about compassion, connection, and making sure every pet feels loved—whether in our shelter or at home with their families.”
Give Back: Wish Trees Supporting Shelter Animals
HSCO’s Wish Trees are a meaningful way to help over 3,000 animals cared for each year. Visit participating locations, select an ornament with a needed item, and return it to a Wish Tree or the HSCO Open House.
