Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest Is Back!

Enter your four-legged friend in our Howl-o-ween Pet Costume Contest on Tuesday, October 31, at the Old Mill District (in the central plaza by the walking bridge and The Gap). Local celebrities will begin judging at 5:30pm.

Humane Society of Central Oregon’s (HSCO) booth will have dog and cat treats, and the businesses will be handing out treats, plus other activities from 4-7pm. You may see yourself on the news.

Unleash your imagination and create a costume for any companion animal. The contest is not limited to dogs and cats, so dress up your bearded dragon or guinea pig and surprise the celebrity judges (keep all animals safe from inclement weather). Prizes will be given to the top entries.

The HSCO Howl-o-ween Pet Costume contest judging begins at 5:30pm (registration starts at 4pm at our booth). Make sure your pet’s costume is comfortable and they can move and see freely.

Save the Date: Tuesday, November 21, is HSCO’s Day of Giving

We’re thrilled to announce that the Humane Society of Central Oregon will be celebrating our annual Day of Giving on Tuesday, November 21, so save the date!

The Day of Giving is an annual campaign that unites our entire community in generosity and compassion to support vulnerable animals and the lifesaving work of HSCO. Next month, we’ll share heartwarming Day of Giving animal stories your support makes possible!

HSCO’s Thrift Store Holiday Boutique is Open!

This annual reveal is a favorite for new and gently used holiday furnishings, Christmas trees, collectibles, dinnerware, linens, gifts, and more.

Shop early for on-trend and sustainable holiday décor and gifts that help animals in need. Sales and donations at the HSCO Thrift Store are a critical funding source to support the programs and services to help people and their pets.

Arielle Barrick, a regular HSCO Thrift Store shopper, says, “I love the Christmas Boutique and shop it yearly because we always find great new-to-us items at reasonable prices. I love the variety and the hunt.”

Customers can sniff out a bargain year-around at the 17,000-square-foot HSCO Thrift Store. The store is open daily from 10am to 6pm, and donations are accepted Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
