October 9 – 15 is National Fire Prevention Week and the Bend Fire Department is celebrating with an Open House event.
This year’s national theme – Don’t Wait: Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years – serves to educate our community about the importance of testing and replacing outdated smoke alarms.
Does your home have a smoke alarm? According to national statistics, the answer is likely yes. Most American homes have at least one. But do you know how old your smoke alarms are?
If you’re like most people, you’re probably not so sure. This is concerning because smoke alarms don’t last forever.
The Bend Fire Department urges all Bend residents to learn how old their smoke alarms are, and to replace them every 10 years
