Assistance League of Bend announces Kollectible or Keepsake September 14, an antique appraisal show benefiting Assistance League of Bend. Seven appraisal experts from around the country will be in attendance, helping Central Oregonians discover the value of some of their family heirlooms and treasures.
A $40 ticket will provide entry and the appraisal of one item. Ticket holders will bring their item to the event at their designated ticket time – there will be 8 one-hour periods to choose from – starting at 9am. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet with an appraiser and visit various booths, and proceeds go directly to the philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Bend, a local organization dedicated to helping vulnerable children and adults in our community.
Appraisers include Linda Dyer, Colleene Fesko, J. Michael Flanigan, Virginia Salem, James Supp, Stuart Whitehurst and Sara Wishart.
Linda Dyer brings 30 year’s experience in evaluating, authenticating, buying and selling American Indian art and ethnographica to her business as an independent appraiser, consultant and broker of fine art and antiques.

J. Michael Flanigan is a Baltimore native who has been in the antiques business since 1976. He spent the years 1977-1984 at the firm of J. W. Berry and Son. While there he had the chance to examine and repair some of the finest examples of American antique furniture in both private and public collections.
Virginia Salem is the director of fine jewelry at Freeman’s auctioneers in Philadelphia. Freeman’s is the oldest auction house in America. Salem earned a Graduate Gemologist diploma in 1988. Shortly thereafter, she worked as Top Sales Associate in the Precious Jewelry Salon of Neiman Marcus in Boston, later joining E.B.Horn, Co., as a Gemologist and buyer of colored gemstones.
A native of Tucson, Arizona, James Supp has been an avid collector of antique tools for over 25 years. He’s not simply a collector, though, as he actually uses his tools, restoring artifacts and producing finely crafted reproductions using authentic methods. With his skills as an artisan, James has restored and reproduced everything from ancient Roman surgical tools to 16th-century German costumes, and even Picasso sculptures.
