Moving into a new geographic market is typically an uphill battle, but bringing proven success can help smooth the process. Such will be the case when Portland’s independently owned, exterior remodeling company Lifetime Windows & Doors opens its doors in Bend this April. Currently located on SE Lee Avenue in Portland, the company will expand to include a 1700 square foot Southeast American Lane location.

The company, which provides window and door installation, roofing, and siding, plans to grow to a dozen or so employees as the business expands in Central Oregon. They will first use a mixed crew of experienced, American Architectural Manufacturers Association-certified installers from Portland combined with new hires from Central Oregon. As the crews become established, Lifetime will move to all local employees.
“We saw the move as a tremendous opportunity for growth, says Timothy Pew, operations manager for the Bend location. “There is a lot of potential in this community.”

Pew moved to Northwest Bend in October of last year in an effort to be closer to his girlfriend. The outdoor enthusiast brings with him over twenty years of production management experience, including six years at Lifetime. He is happy to be here, although the move hasn’t been without challenges, especially when it came to finding a suitable location in our competitive real estate market.

“Things don’t happen overnight,” explains Pew. “It took a while to find a space. We are very fortunate to have found this location.”

Lifetime Windows & Doors was founded in Portland in 1998 by childhood friends Carl Thompson and Eric Peterson. With Peterson as President and Thompson as Vice President, Lifetime relies on a strong reputation, built on quality service and customer satisfaction. In 2014, they won the Super Service Award from Angie’s List.

Lifetime Windows & Doors will leverage its Portland success as they move into Central Oregon’s growing building and remodel economy. While window and door replacement takes up the majority of their business, Lifetime has been expanding its siding and roofing divisions of late. They will use positive reviews on websites such as Yelp, along with internet marketing to spread the word on their company.

“We have been in business for over seventeen years,” says Pew. “Our mainstay is our quality and being a family and customer service oriented company.”

As a company that appreciates the value of community, Lifetime Windows and Doors will strive to use all local vendors and grow with the help of a local workforce. And, a partnership with Energy Trust of Oregon shows their commitment to helping people lower their energy costs and carbon footprint. Lifetime will have a booth at the Central Oregon Home and Garden Show May 1-3 at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds.
