United Way of Central Oregon fights for the health, education, financial stability and resilience of every person in our community. Together with our partners, we’re nurturing wellbeing, transforming access and creating ripple effects that are helping our community members live better lives.
Thirty-eight percent of Central Oregon households were living on the edge, or were already living below, the federal poverty level before COVID-19.
Now more than ever before, Central Oregonians are facing housing instability, food insecurity, childcare crises, mental health struggles, intimate partner violence, child abuse and other challenges. That’s why we’re working to feed people, keep them housed and protect our most vulnerable — helping individuals and families stay afloat.
We’re funding local and regional nonprofits to help them adapt to the new challenges they face in serving our community through the pandemic. With our grantmaking, we’re directing our efforts and resources to where they will have the greatest impact, especially for those who are the most vulnerable and marginalized.
Twenty-six percent of Central Oregonians are served by a United Way funded program or service.
We’re striving for equitable access to resources for all Central Oregonians, especially those who are most vulnerable and marginalized, such as those living in or near poverty, those experiencing racial injustice, those facing other inequities and forms of discrimination and those children in need. We’re focused on childhood trauma as a root cause of many of our region’s most complex mental health, behavioral health, physical health and social issues. And, we’re cultivating resilience so that each and every one of us can thrive.
