Mid Oregon Credit Union Hosting Free Estate Planning Webinar

According to a 2022 survey conducted by Caring.com, more than 50 percent of Americans think that estate planning is at least somewhat important, but only one-third actually have a will or living trust in place. Many people of modest means believe that they don’t need one, because they don’t have enough assets to worry about.

However, according to Jeff Patterson, partner at Lynch Murphy McLane LLP and an attorney with more than 17 years of estate planning experience, every adult needs to consider having an estate plan in place — especially those with minor children or a dependent of any age with special needs.

On Thursday, October 13 at 10am, Patterson will be sharing his expertise on this topic as part of Mid Oregon’s Financial Fitness webinar series. Consistently among Mid Oregon’s top-attended webinars, Estate Planning Essentials, will cover wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare documents and beneficiary designation assets/accounts. He’ll also discuss what can happen when someone becomes disabled or incapacitated, and how both Oregon and federal estate tax laws can affect your decision-making process when it comes to formulating an estate plan.

The workshop is no cost, and both members and non-members of the credit union are welcome to register. Attendees can pre-register at midoregon.com/education or by clicking this link.
