Though Moonlight Business Process Outsourcing (MBPO) has been in business since 1985, after gaining new ownership in 2001 by Brenda Grigsby, the company has expanded printing and mailing services as well as document management services and grown six fold.
From their 18,000 square foot space on Twin Knolls Drive combined with a 11,500 square foot document storage warehouse for a total space now of 29,500, Grigsby, president and owner, says MBPO continues to offer first class daily mail services and has added statement printing, bankruptcy notices, ballots and is a full service print and mail company along with full color digital and offset printing.
Grigsby shares, “we print and mail statements for financial, utilities medical, ballots, bankruptcy notices, marketing pieces, etc. MBPO offers e-statements as well for customers nationally and internationally. From our many certifications we are able to secure accounts in the State of New York and a large national pharmacy along with medical facilities in Guam. Large corporations choose to outsource to us to spend their funds in a diverse way…with a woman run company.”
Some of MBPOs credentials include WBENC, WOSB and Women Owned Small Business.
Security certifications MBPO possesses include SSAE 16 Type II, SOC2, PCI Data Security Standard and HIPAA, which requires a yearly audit. “We are amongst a handful of companies in the USA who have each of these certifications,” Grigsby notes. “Security is our specialty. We do drug testing and background checks on employees. We do not allow cell phones in the building or lap tops and no Wi-Fi.”
As a female business owner, Grigsby has been asked to speak at woman business owner’ conferences with AT&T, the FBI and PG&E on a panel about cyber security. She says to audience members, “one of the best things we have done this year to protect MBPO from phishing email scams is hire a company called KnowBe4 to train our employees to be human fire walls. We also have a new software we are launching this year that can send any print piece to a cell phone. We are all about new technology here and try and stay ahead of our competition in that respect.”
MBPO customers can look forward to new offerings such as e-statements, smart and cell phone document services and having recently purchased Central Oregon’s first HP Indigo press will expand printing in a way not yet seen locally.
Living in Bend for the past 54 years and graduating from Bend Senior High, Grigsby and husband Dale Parkinson have four children and say, “The best thing in our life is family…especially our eight amazing grandkids.”
Grigsby concludes, “here at MBPO we value all of our local nonprofits whom we regularly donate to. Bethlehem Inn is one of my favorites as well as Harmony for Women and Ronald McDonald.”
