NeighborWorks — Empowering Communities for Success

0

In celebration of NeighborWorks Week, NeighborImpact HomeSource, a leading provider of housing and financial counseling services in Central Oregon, invites you to attend “Building Financial Wellness with Your Clients.” This training series aims to empower professionals with the tools and knowledge necessary to support clients in achieving financial security and stability. The June 4 session, held at the Deschutes Downtown Public Library from 3-4 pm, will feature a lender panel to discuss locally available first-time homebuying loan programs.

During NeighborWorks Week (June 1-8), NeighborImpact and other NeighborWorks network organizations across the country celebrate the achievements of communities and how NeighborWorks and residents work together to empower people to create meaningful change in their lives. As housing affordability remains a challenge affecting first-time homebuyers in Central Oregon, NeighborImpact HomeSource aims to help bridge the affordability gap and make homeownership more accessible by increasing awareness of first-time homebuyer programs.

The training will be particularly beneficial for professionals working in the housing market or for direct service providers who seek to enhance knowledge of programs available to assist their clients. Panelists include loan officers Jill Jennings of Washington Trust, Matt Martino of Umpqua Bank, and Victor Tapia of Mann Mortgage. After the training, attendees are invited to stay for an optional networking event to exchange ideas and create meaningful connections within the industry. Appetizers will be provided.

NeighborImpact is part of the national NeighborWorks network, an affiliation of nearly 250 nonprofit organizations located in every state, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Throughout the year, NeighborWorks network organizations empower people to take steps to reach their goals, such as make their community safer, find and maintain secure housing, and ensure financial stability, which leads to thriving, healthier communities. In fiscal year 2023, the NeighborWorks network provided 428,021 housing and counseling services; created 16,269 new homeowners; and owned and/or managed 204,563 rental homes.
