Tourists and business executives now have a new place to stay and conduct business in the Old Mill District. A new 114-room Hampton Inn & Suites Bend, located at 730 SW Columbia Street has opened and is ready to host customers at their central location.
The Bend site adds to Hilton Worldwide’s more than 1900 Hampton Inns, Hampton Inn & Suites, and Hampton by Hilton hotels. This is the first Hampton property in Bend and the tenth in Oregon. Doing their job for Central Oregon’s economy, the hotel employs thirty-five workers.
“The demand for rooms (in Bend) is high, especially during the summer, and is growing,” explains Matt Blackburn, general manger at Hampton Inn & Suites Bend. “There’s not a better location in Bend;a stone’s throw from the Old Mill, the Amphitheater and the Deschutes River.”
The hotel, located across the street from Riverbend Park’s dog off-leash area, offers a wide array of amenities. The hotel includes a 24-hour business center with complimentary printing, a fitness center, and 2,300 square feet of flexible meeting space. Guest rooms are equipped with an LCD flat-screen television, a coffee maker, and free in-room cable. Suites are larger and offer a sleeping sofa, microwave, and refrigerator.
The meeting space can function as one large room or separated into two rooms by an air wall. Each section has a separate entrance, an integrated sound system, and LCD projectors. While they are anticipating summer to be their busiest season, the space has already been used by several local organizations.
Local photography and artwork adorns the walls of the hotel, keeping in line with Hampton Hotel’s brand of hospitality, called, Hamptonality. This friendly approach to customer service includes suggestions on what to do while in Bend, as well as historical facts about the area.
“We’re not just here to work, we’re here to serve each and every guest with whatever they need to have a great day,” says Blackburn.
Blackburn anticipates mixed combination of leisure and business visitors to frequent the hotel.
