City of Bend Water Tap at Earth Day Fair

Come fill your reusable water bottle with Bend’s award-winning drinking water at the Earth Day Fair from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, April 19. The City’s interactive water tap booth will be at the corner of Bond Street and Kansas Avenue. The colorful water tap display illustrates Bend’s drinking water system and dispenses drinking water for thirsty fair goers.

The City’s water conservation program manager will be available to offer tips on water conservation and answer conservation-related questions. Stop by before 2:30pm to enter a drawing for a chance to win an EPA WaterSense-approved irrigation controller, a valuable piece of equipment that controls home irrigation systems to improve efficiency. The Earth Day Fair is a signature event for The Environmental Center. It’s festive celebration of the natural world that includes live music, art, local businesses, food, interactive displays and great hands-on activities for all ages. See www.envirocenter.org, under Events. The City of Bend is a sponsor of the Earth Day Kids Zone.

The Earth Day Fair immediately follows the Earth Day Parade, a colorful, creative parade filled with children and adults costumed as their favorite species. The parade starts at 11 a.m., winds through downtown and ends at the fair, along Kansas Avenue in front of The Environmental Center. The fair ends at 3pm.

Bend’s Water Tap booth will also be at the Bite of Bend, Summer Fest and other events this summer and fall.
