The Redmond Urban Renewal Agency is pleased to announce nine new businesses in the retail/restaurant/service sectors have opened downtown since the beginning of 2025. The current occupancy is 91%, making it the third year in a row where the downtown occupancy has remained above 90%.
“The variety of businesses locating downtown continues to diversify making it a great time to start up in downtown,” says Brandon Cook-Bostick real estate professional and Downtown Urban Renewal advisory committee chair. “Spaces don’t stay empty long, and we expect occupancy to remain strong over the next few quarters.”
Some of the new businesses opened downtown this year include:
- Food & Drink: Kooki (235 SW Sixth Street) bakery and cafe; Don Gabino’s Mexican Grill (530 SW Sixth Street) Mexican restaurant
- Décor, Clothing, & Gifts: Little & Luxe (239 SW Sixth Street) women and children’s boutique; Dry Canyon Arts Gallery (405 SW Sixth Street) art gallery and studio.
- Entertainment, Activities, and Services: Brandlab (512 SW Sixth Street) print shop; The House (522 SW Sixth Street) fitness gym; Mana Folly (439 SW Sixth Street) game room; Pawfect Harmony Pup Spa (632 SW Sixth Street #5) pet groomer; Smith Rock Tattoo (633 SW Deschutes Avenue) tattoo shop.
The Redmond Urban Renewal Agency works to attract businesses and downtown investment as prescribed in the Downtown Urban Renewal Plan. Grant and loan incentives are available to support new and existing businesses to help make projects a reality. In 2025, over $110,000 in Urban Renewal resources were invested in partnership with 11 small businesses, leveraging nearly $1 million of new projects. Stated another way, every $1 of public funding has helped unlock $9 of private investment in downtown Redmond.
