To support local students heading back to school in the fall, OnPoint Community Credit Union announced it will be accepting school supply donations to help local teachers and students, and distributed with the help of Schoolhouse Supplies. The credit union will also give an additional $5 for every $1 donated to the KGW School Supply Drive at OnPoint branches between August 12-17, 2024*. The KGW School Supply Drive, which runs from today through August 31, 2024, aims to send 15,000 students across Oregon and Southwest Washington back to school with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom. All donations will stay in the community in which they are made.

“Having the necessary school supplies is critical for students to start the year confident and engaged, but so many families in our community still struggle with the resources to provide them,” said Rob Stuart, President and Chief Executive Officer, OnPoint Community Credit Union. “Today’s students are our future leaders, and the School Supply Drive helps give them what they need to keep learning, growing and succeeding. We encourage everyone in our community to join us in supporting these deserving students.”

As part of this year’s drive, OnPoint will host collection events where the community can drop off new school supplies and cash donations at its Lloyd Center Branch (1100 NE Weidler St., Portland, OR 97232) and at the Washington Square shopping center, below the food court.
